Wireless mobile printer?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. Today I bought an HP Photosmart C5580, which included a HP bt500 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter. Yes, my laptop is Bluetooth compatible. The problem is that my laptop does not pick up my adapter. Well, I guess, but I to say that is there in "Bluetooth Devices" I get to the control panel. (My operating system is Windows Vista.) I have read all the manuals in the background, and many websites. My printer will work when using a USB cable to connect my laptop to the printer, but is said to work without wires! I set Bluetooth devices to discover, and I know that the "device address", whatever. Help! Thanks so much! Yes I installed the CD-ROM which is the application for the printer, and there is no request to connect the adapter.
